About the chapel

After the dining hall, the chapel was high on the priority list of Camp Cleghorn's improvements. It was built in the early 1900s and has been at the heart of summer life ever since.

Nestled between the lake and the woods, it feels as though you are part of both during Sunday services. The chapel has a long tradition of including local talent as part of the worship service.

Memorial contributions have been made in memory of those who have been blessed by their time here. The carillon music was added as a memorial in the early 1970s. Today, chimes are played at 9 AM, noon, and 6 PM during the summer months. The steeple — which also protects the bell — was another addition made possible by donors.

Offerings

Proceeds support local charities.

All offerings received at Sunday services — after expenses — go to local charities in the Waupaca area. Three charities dedicated to alleviating the tragedy of drug and alcohol abuse are the camp's preferred beneficiaries, a reflection of its founding temperance values.
